A downloadable game for Windows

F.U.R.Y is an asymmetrical VR -vs-PC Game prototype:

Two VR players in a tank must team up to fight against an RTS style PC player, who must build up an economy and defenses to ward the tank off until reinforcements arrive.

As the tank, your goal is to destroy the PC players core before reinforcements arrive and you are destroyed. In order to breach the energy barrier protecting said core, you must capture and deactivate the three generators around the map that are powering it.

As the PC player, you must defend your vulnerable core from being destroyed by the Tank before reinforcements arrive. You do this by building up an economy and placing down towers to defend the generators.

The tank can be disabled with enough damage, losing all function and forcing the VR players to need to repair it. As such, the PC player needs to consistently impede the tank for the full 15 minutes, while the Tank must capture the generators and destroy the core before time runs out.

Seamless PC x VR gameplay:

The PC player is an omnipresent force overlooking the battlefield, with the power to manipulate, damage and disable the tank as it makes its way through the map.

Tactile VR Interactivity:

Tank operation is designed to play into VR's strengths. Driving requires the timed pulling of levers and 'in the moment' adjustments to dodge obstacles. Loading, aiming and firing the main cannon is complex and tactile while repairing the engine under stress will test your stamina.

Grab based Locomotion

swing throughout the tank and pull yourself through tight spaces with locomotion that truly makes you feel like your traversing through the bowls of a claustrophobic war machine.

Disclaimer:

This game is ultimately a prototype, created by four game design students to explore unique concepts and mechanics within Virtual Reality to further develop within their year three capstone project.

Also! Depending on the concurrent amount of players every month, the game may briefly become unavailable at times.

Install instructions

Please make sure your VR headset is connected to your PC via Airlink or wire when you start up the game.

When in the main menu, please remove your headset and join a lobby using your PC, putting it back on once you've joined.

Please note that this game requires at least two players to function. One to host a lobby as the RTS, and one to join it as a VR player. It can't be played in single player.

Also! if there's any MAJOR bugs or errors, or you just want to give us some feedback, then please do so below. We're developing the 'VR Tank' concept further in our next game, and your feedback will help inform its development.

I had a bunch of fun playing this. I did find that for the tank, it felt like there are two options, drive, or shoot, with one person always standing by on repairs. If constantly repairing then you can just drive through any dangers, even mines. On the other hand, we got stuck at one point being harassed by drone spawns we couldn't shoot at so we only had one option, just drive while repairing. More options for the tank crew, as well as more restrictions on where the PC player can place buildings might help make it more interesting.

Hi there. I'm a dev on a title named Aces and Armor. I would to have a talk with your programmers some time if they would be amenable to it.

If you're willing you can find me on our discord (Roberto Costa) or my email robertocosta.dev@gmail.com

Really fun game! Me and my buddies played it for a couple hours. The only critique I have is the tank feels a little too overpowered when you really understand the game.

Here are a couple things I would tweak to maybe help the problem:
-  I would tweak the repair mechanic so its a little harder, or maybe less efficient.
- I also think the buildings should have a little more health so the tank can't just ram the tier 3 buildings.
- And maybe a "wall" building would be fun!

Also I found the mine placement really inconsistent for some reason, but that may have just been me.

Good job, I hope you guys got a really good grade on it lol!

Thank you!, We really appreciate the feedback and are stoked you had fun playing!! We tossed up those ideas during development but ran out of time due to assessment dates unfortunately. We are happy to say that we got an A+.

And well deserved! amazing fun time.

I am excited to see what you guys decide to do with this going forward.
